Reclaim Barn Flooring

Specialty Wood Works is now offering reclaim flooring milled from salvaged barn wood. This product is very popular on the west coast for its personality and rustic appeal. Available in various widths; the standard tongue in groove flooring is installed conventionally and finished in place. The thick wood floor is sandable and refinishable.

Aesthetic considerations aside, this product may appeal to those customers who desire the characteristics of hardwoods but want to minimize the environmental impact of their purchase. Salvage flooring offers an alternative environmentally friendly solution to this dilemma by reducing pressure on natural resources and promoting the recycling and reuse of wood materials.

Of course, reclaimed wood flooring doesn't necessarily mean rough. Here we see a beautifully installed and finished floor milled from recycled White, Red and Black Oak reclaimed from Illinois barns. The installation is a new yoga studio in Peoria called HeadingOM, and the owners wanted environmental wood flooring to fit with the company's green philosophy.

Restoration Flooring

This product is a faithful reproduction of the typical tongue-in-groove hardwood flooring most often found in buildings from the mid nineteenth to the mid twentieth century. Specialty Wood Works of Peoria's Victorian flooring presents the ideal choice for historical restoration projects as well as other applications favoring traditional flooring over modern prefinished and laminate type products.
